Available Tools

• get_price_tool: Retrieve the price of a stock/cryptocurrency trading pair.
  • Parameters:
    • ticker (string): Required - The trading pair name or alias (e.g., "BTC - USD", "AAPL").
    • period (string): Optional - The time range (e.g., "1d", "5d", "1mo"). Default is "1d".
• get_news_tool: Fetch news about a stock/cryptocurrency trading pair.
  • Required Parameters:
    • ticker (string): Required.
    • count (string): Optional - The number of articles to retrieve (default: 5).

📦 Installation

Install via Smithery

Automatically install yfinance - mcp - server for Claude Desktop through Smithery:

Install via uv

Local Installation

uv pip install -e .

Run the Server
