💻 Usage Examples

Using the MCP Server in this Repository

The TypeScript-based server in this repository can be directly run using npx.

For example, to start the Memory server, run the following command:

npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/server-memory

The Python-based server can be directly run via uvx or pip. It is recommended to use uvx to simplify the setup and installation process.

For example, to start the Git server, run the following commands:

# Using uvx
uvx mcp-server-git

# Using pip
pip install mcp-server-git
python -m mcp_server_git

Please follow these instructions to install uv / uvx, and these instructions to install pip.

Using in the MCP Client

However, running a server alone doesn't have much practical use. Usually, we configure it in an MCP client. For example, here is a configuration example for Claude Desktop using the above server:
