An unofficial Python API wrapper for accessing https://firstcycling.com/.

This API wrapper currently supports the following endpoints:

• Race pages
• Rider pages
• Ranking pages

Basic Usage

Race Results:

>>> from first_cycling_api import RaceEdition
>>> amstel_2019 = RaceEdition(race_id=9, year=2019) # race_id comes from the race page URL
>>> amstel_2019.results().results_table.head() # Returns a pandas DataFrame containing race results

Rider Results:

>>> from first_cycling_api import RiderResults
>>> rider_results = RiderResults(rider_id=7569, year=2019)
>>> rider_results.results.head() # Returns a pandas DataFrame containing the specified rider's race results

Ranking Table:

>>> from first_cycling_api import RankingTable
>>> ranking = RankingTable(rank=1, y=2020, page=2) # Parameters come from the corresponding URL
>>> ranking.table.head() # Returns a pandas DataFrame containing the ranking table

In particular, there is room for improvement in the following areas:

• Mapping more endpoints (e.g., pages starting with https://firstcycling.com/team.php).
• Parsing results from more pages (e.g., race start lists, race statistics).

To run the tests, first pip install pytest and pip install vcrpy. Then run py.test in the shell at the root directory.
