This server provides a range of video - related services. To get started, you need to meet some prerequisites and choose a suitable way to run the server.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• TwelveLabs API key.
• Docker and Docker Compose (optional, for containerized deployment).
• Node.js (required for local deployment).

Local Deployment

1. Set the necessary environment variables:

export TWELVELABS_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Start the server:

npm start

Deployment with Docker

Method 1: Using Docker Compose

1. Create the required folders:

mkdir -p data

2. Set environment variables:

export TWELVELABS_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"

3. Start with Docker Compose:

docker-compose up -d

Method 2: Using Docker commands directly

docker build -t twelvelabs-mcp .
docker run -e TWELVELABS_API_KEY="your_api_key_here" twelvelabs-mcp

Notes for Running in Portainer Environment

If you encounter volume issues in Portainer, manually create a volume and connect it to the service:

1. Create a volume:

docker volume create \
  --driver local \
  --opt type=none \
  --opt device=/path/to/host/directory \
  --opt o=bind \
  twelvelabs-mcp-data

2. Update the service (in the N8N environment):

docker service update \
  --mount-add type=volume,source=twelvelabs-mcp-data,target=/app/data \
  your_service_name

🔧 Troubleshooting

Module Not Found Error

This error usually occurs when the volume mount settings are incorrect. Please refer to the "Notes for Running in Portainer Environment" above.

API Key Authentication Error

Please check if the environment variable TWELVELABS_API_KEY is set correctly.
