🚀 Northeastern University Calendar MCP Server

This MCP server provides access to the Northeastern University event calendar via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It allows Claude Desktop to retrieve, search, and filter calendar events at Northeastern University.

🚀 Quick Start

Run the MCP Server

1. Ensure the virtual environment is activated.
2. Start the server:

python neu_calendar_server.py

3. The server will run on localhost at port 8000 by default.

Connect with Claude Desktop

For detailed instructions on setting up the MCP server with Claude Desktop, refer to CLAUDE_DESKTOP_SETUP.md.

Quick setup:

1. Open Claude Desktop.
2. Go to Settings -> Developer.
3. Click "Edit Configuration".
4. Add the configuration for the NEU Calendar MCP server.
5. Restart Claude Desktop.

Use Extended Features

Once the extension is installed and the server is running, you can ask Claude to query information about Northeastern University events. For example:

• "Is there any event at Northeastern University today?"
• "Show events in the next week."
• "Are there any seminars this month?"
• "Tell me about the sports events at Northeastern University."
• "What are the available event categories?"

📦 Installation

1. Clone or download this repository.
2. Create a virtual environment:

python -m venv venv

3. Activate the virtual environment:

• On macOS/Linux:

source venv/bin/activate

• On Windows:

venv\Scripts\activate

4. Install the required dependencies:

pip install -r requirements.txt
