This is a TypeScript-based Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Its main goal is to instruct AI to open projects, and the AI will call the MCP server to open and run the projects locally. It demonstrates core concepts through a project management system demo.

Resources

• List and access projects via project:// URIs.
• Each project has a project name, path, and metadata.
• Use plain text MIME types for simple content access.

Tools

• create_project - Create a new text project.
  • Requires a title and content as parameters.
  • Stores the project in the server state.
• open_project - Open a project.

📦 Installation

To use with Claude Desktop, add the server configuration:

• On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Here are the steps to set up the development environment:

Install dependencies

npm install

Build the server

npm run build

Development with auto-rebuild

npm run watch

Advanced Usage

Debugging

Since the MCP server communicates via standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector, which is available as a package script:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector node .../demo-mcp-server/build/index.js

The inspector will provide a browser URL to access debugging tools.
