🚀 Coda Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server

This project implements a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, serving as a bridge for interacting with the Coda API. It enables an MCP client (such as an AI assistant) to perform operations on specific Coda documents, like listing, creating, reading, updating, duplicating, and renaming pages.

✨ Features

The server exposes the following tools to MCP clients:

• list-pages: List all pages in the configured Coda document.
• create-page: Create a new page in the document, optionally populating it with initial Markdown content.
• get-page-content: Retrieve the content (as Markdown) of a specified page by ID or name.
• replace-page-content: Replace the content of a specified page with new Markdown content.
• append-page-content: Append new Markdown content to the end of a specified page.
• duplicate-page: Duplicate an existing page and create a copy with a new name.
• rename-page: Rename an existing page.

🚀 Quick Start

Add the MCP server to tools like Cursor/Claude Desktop using the following execution command:

npx -y coda-mcp@latest

For example, in Cursor/Claude Desktop, you can add it like this:

Required Environment Variables

• API_KEY: Your Coda API key. You can generate it in your Coda account settings.
• DOC_ID: The ID of the Coda document the server will interact with. You can find it in the document's URL (the part after _d).

📦 Installation

Local Configuration

1. Prerequisites:

   • Node.js
   • pnpm

2. Clone the repository:

   git clone <repository-url>
   cd coda-mcp
   

3. Install dependencies:

   pnpm install
   

4. Build the project:

   pnpm build
   

   This will compile the TypeScript code to JavaScript and output it to the dist/ directory.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

The MCP server communicates via standard input/output (stdio). To run it, set the environment variables and execute the compiled JavaScript file - dist/index.js.

Advanced Usage

When adding the MCP server to tools like Cursor/Claude Desktop, you need to configure the execution command and environment variables as shown in the above JSON example.
