🚀 Elasticsearch Model Context Protocol Server

A server that provides the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for Elasticsearch clusters, enabling LLMs to manage and execute indexing and query operations.

⚠️ Important Note

This server is primarily built by inputting examples of the PostgreSQL MCP server into Claude.

Components

Tools

• Search

  • Execute search queries on an index.
  • Input:
    • index (string): The name of the target index.
    • query (object): Elasticsearch query DSL.
  • Returns search results.

• Create Index

  • Create a new Elasticsearch index.
  • Input:
    • index (string): The name of the index.
    • mappings (object, optional): Index mapping configuration.
    • settings (object, optional): Index settings configuration.

• List Indexes

  • List all available indexes.
  • No input required.
  • Returns an array of index information.

• Index Document

  • Index a document.
  • Input:
    • index (string): The name of the target index.
    • id (string, optional): The document ID.
    • document (object): The document content.
  • Returns the result of the indexing operation.

Resources

The server provides mapping information for each index:

• Index Mapping (elasticsearch://<host>/<index>/schema)
  • JSON mapping information.
  • Field names, types, and configurations.
  • Automatically discovered from metadata.

Using with Claude Desktop

Advanced Usage

One-click Docker Run Command

docker run -d --name elasticsearch -p 9200:9200 -p 9300:9300 -e "discovery.type=single-node" -e "xpack.security.enabled=false" docker.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch:8.11.3

Replace the URL with your Elasticsearch endpoint.
