🚀 MCP Moni Project Documentation

MCP Moni is a project that provides a Model Context Protocol server, which can be integrated with Claude Desktop for specific operations. It allows users to interact with the Monad test network through a custom server.

🚀 Quick Start

📦 Installation

Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/deseti/mcp-moni.git
cd mcp-moni

Install dependencies

npm install

Create a .env file

Create a .env file in the project root directory and add your test wallet private key:

TEST_WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY=your_test_wallet_private_key_here

Build the project

npm run build

Start the MCP server

node build/index.js

💻 Integration with Claude Desktop

1. Open Claude Desktop.
2. Go to Settings > Developer.
3. Edit the claude_desktop_config.json file and add the following content:

4. Restart Claude Desktop.
5. Type @mcp-moni in Claude to activate the MCP server.

Explanation of the claude_desktop_config.json file

• mcpServers: Defines all Model Context Protocol servers that Claude can interact with.
• mcp-moni: This is the identifier used to activate the server (using @mcp-moni in Claude).
• command: The executable file to run (Node.js in this example).
• args: The parameters passed to the command, pointing to your built MCP Moni server file.

Note: On Windows systems, this file is usually located at C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json. On macOS systems, it is located at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json.

🔧 Configuration Options

The MCP Moni server can be configured through the following environment variables:

• TEST_WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY: The private key of the test wallet (required for transactions, mandatory).
• RPC_URL: The custom RPC address of the Monad test network (optional, uses the public endpoint by default).
• CHAIN_ID: The chain ID of the Monad network (optional, defaults to the test network).

❓ Frequently Asked Questions and Solutions

General issues

1. Connection error: Ensure that the RPC address of the Monad test network is accessible.
2. Transaction failure: Check if your test wallet has enough MON for gas fees.
3. Missing private key: Ensure that the .env file is correctly configured with the private key of the test wallet.
4. Tool not found: Confirm that the Claude Desktop configuration points to the correct build path.

⚠️ Important Notes

• This project is only for interacting with Moni MCP and wallets. Please add your private key to the .env file. Note: Only use test network wallets (never use your main wallet for security reasons).
• When directly executing functions, use a test wallet (never use your main wallet!).
• When creating an NFT, the image must be provided in Base64 - encoded format.
