Kollektiv MCP is a Remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server running on Cloudflare Workers. It enables users to use Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) on their own documents via IDEs (such as Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Desktop, or other MCP-compatible clients).

🔧 Technical Details

Architecture

The Kollektiv MCP server consists of the following key components:

• OAuth providers (workers-oauth-provider and supabase): Responsible for handling authentication and authorization.
• Type definitions (types): Ensure strong type safety and consistency in the code.
• Core business logic (src/main.ts): Implement specific functions of the MCP protocol, such as document analysis and data retrieval.

Dependency Management

The project uses tsconfig.json and package.json to manage TypeScript configurations and dependencies. We recommend the following tools for development:

• Code editor: VS Code
• Build tool: npm scripts or yarn

🚀 Quick Start

Install Dependencies

Install the project dependencies using npm or yarn:

npm install
# or
yarn install

Start the Server

After installing the dependencies, start the MCP server:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev

Interface Definitions

The MCP server provides the following key interfaces:

• DocumentAnalyzer: Used to analyze and process document content.
• Configurator: Responsible for configuring and managing server parameters.

💻 Usage Examples

Connect to the MCP Server

To connect to the MCP server in your project, you can follow these steps:

1. Install the client library:

   npm install @kollektiv/mcp-client
   # or
   yarn add @kollektiv/mcp-client
   

2. Configure connection parameters: Update your project's environment variables (.env) file with the following content:

   MCP_ENDPOINT=http://localhost:8000
   

3. Use the client: Import and initialize the MCP client in your code:

   import { KollektivMCP } from '@kollektiv/mcp-client';
   
   const mcp = new KollektivMCP({
     endpoint: process.env.MCP_ENDPOINT,
   });
   
   // Example call

⚠️ Important Note

• Authentication: All external API dispatches must be authenticated via OAuth.
• Data Isolation: Ensure that each user's document processing is isolated to prevent data leakage.
