🚀 Quick Start

Before using Octagon VC Agents, you need to install and configure it according to the following steps.

📦 Installation

System Requirements

• Operating System: Windows 10/11 or macOS Ventura or later.
• Memory: 4GB or more.
• Hard Disk Space: At least 500MB of free space.

Installation Steps

Install with pipx

1. First, make sure you have Python 3.8 or a higher version installed.
2. Run the following commands in the terminal or command prompt to install pipx:

   python -m pip install --user pipx
   python -m pipx ensurepath
   

3. After the installation is complete, run the following command to start the Octagon VC Agents:

   env OCTAGON_API_KEY=Your_Octagon_API_Key OPENAI_API_KEY=Your_OpenAI_API_Key pipx run --pip-args="--no-cache-dir" octagon-vc-agents run
   

Manual Installation

1. Run the following command in the terminal or command prompt:

   pip install octagon-vc-agents
   

📚 Documentation

Configuration in Claude Desktop

1. Open the Claude desktop application.
2. Go to "Settings" > "Developer" > "Edit Configuration".
3. Add the following content to your claude_desktop_config.json file (replace YOUR_OCTAGON_API_KEY_HERE with your Octagon API key and YOUR_OPENAI_API_KEY_HERE with your OpenAI API key):

Configuration in Cursor

1. Open the Cursor settings.
2. Go to "Features" > "MCP Servers".
3. Click "+ Add New MCP Server".
4. Enter the following information:
   • Name: octagon-mcp
   • Type: Command
   • Command: set OCTAGON_API_KEY=Your_Octagon_API_Key & set OPENAI_API_KEY=Your_OpenAI_API_Key & pipx run --pip-args='--no-cache-dir' octagon-vc-agents run

Notes

• If you encounter problems on a Windows system, try the following command:

Configuration in Terminal

1. Open the terminal.

3. Start the Octagon VC Agents:

   pipx run octagon-vc-agents run
