💻 Usage Examples

Media Library Management

• Add Media: Add new content to the media library via the API.
• Delete Media: Remove unwanted content.
• Search Media: Find specific movies or TV shows by title, year, or category.

Download Task Control

• Start Download: Initiate a new download task.
• Pause/Resume: Temporarily stop or restart a downloading task.
• Delete Task: Cancel an unfinished download task.

Resource Management

• Resource Search: Find downloadable torrents based on TMDB ID or Douban ID.
• Fuzzy Search: Find resources by keywords.

Currently, the project is in the stage of gradually integrating features. Future plans include providing SSE deployment to enhance the service's scalability and performance.

• Environment Security: Ensure the environment where MoviePilot account information is stored is secure.
• Account Security: It is recommended to create a dedicated account for this MCP server and avoid using the administrator account.

Development Guide

Prerequisites

• Operating System: Python 3.12+ environment
• Tool: uv package manager
• Infrastructure: A running and accessible MoviePilot service instance

Configuration Steps

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/Pollo3470/MoviePilot-MCP
   cd MoviePilot-MCP
   

2. Create a configuration file:
   • Copy the .env.example file and rename it to .env.
   • Fill in the necessary configuration information, for example:

     # .env example
     MOVIEPILOT_BASE_URL=http://your-moviepilot-ip:3000  # Your MoviePilot address
     
     # Configure the authentication method
     MOVIEPILOT_USERNAME=your_moviepilot_username  # Your MoviePilot username (for password authentication)
     MOVIEPILOT_PASSWORD=your_moviepilot_password  # Your MoviePilot password (for password authentication)
     

3. Create a development environment:

   uv sync
