📦 Installation

Clone the Repository

Use the following command to clone the FastDomainCheck - MCP - Server repository:

git clone https://github.com/bingal/FastDomainCheck-MCP-Server.git
cd FastDomainCheck-MCP-Server

Install Dependencies

Use the Go module management tool to install all dependencies:

go mod tidy

Build the Server

Build the MCP server:

go build -o bin/mcp-server .

Start the server on Mac/Linux

./bin/mcp-server -port=8080

Start the server on Windows

Note: Replace the path with the actual path.

SET GOPATH=C:\path\to\FastDomainCheck-MCP-Server\
%GOPATH%\bin\mcp-server.exe -port=8080

💻 Usage Examples

check_domains

Check the registration status of multiple domains.

Input Format

Parameters:

• domains: An array of strings containing the domains to be checked.
  • Each domain has a maximum length of 255 characters.
  • A maximum of 50 domains are allowed per request.
  • Empty domains are not allowed.

Response Fields:

• results: An object with domains as keys and check results as values.
  • registered: A boolean value.
    • true: The domain is registered.
    • false: The domain is available.

Error Handling

The tool will return an error in the following cases:

1. An empty domain list.
2. More than 50 domains are included in the request.
3. Empty domains.
4. The domain length exceeds 255 characters.
5. Result serialization fails.

🔧 Technical Details

Performance Considerations

1. Domain checks are performed sequentially, taking approximately 0.3 - 1 second per domain.
2. A maximum of 50 domains are processed per request to prevent resource exhaustion.
3. The WHOIS query timeout is set to 10 seconds.
4. DNS queries serve as a backup for failed WHOIS queries.

Error Handling Strategies

1. Input validation: Comprehensive validation is performed before processing.
2. Dual verification: WHOIS is the primary method, and DNS is the secondary method.
3. Timeout management: Reasonable timeouts are set for all network operations.
4. Detailed error messages: Clear error descriptions are provided to assist in troubleshooting.
