Prerequisites

Install Necessary Tools

1. Node.js and npm Ensure that Node.js and npm (version 14 or higher) are installed. You can download them from the Node.js official website.
2. .NET SDK Install the .NET SDK to build and run ASP.NET Core applications. You can download it from the Microsoft official website.
3. Azure CLI Install the Azure CLI to interact with Azure services. You can download it from the [Azure official website](https://azure.microsoft.com/en - us/cli/install/).

Create an Azure Account

If you don't have an Azure account, sign up for a free trial account: Azure Free Trial

Create a Resource Group and a Storage Account

1. Log in to the Azure portal.
2. In the left - hand menu, select “Create a resource group”, enter a name, and create a new resource group.
3. In the resource group, select “Create a storage account” and configure the storage account parameters (such as name, region, etc.) according to the wizard.

Configure Cosmos DB

1. In the Azure portal, select “Create a database service” and choose “Cosmos DB for NoSQL”.
2. Enter the necessary information (such as name, resource group, location) and complete the creation.

Download and Configure the Code Example

1. Clone the provided code repository:

   git clone <repository - url>
   

2. In the project root directory, copy the .env.template file to .env and modify the configuration according to your actual situation:

   dotnet build
   

2. Start the Web API:

Data Population

1. Modify the appsettings.json file and replace the placeholders with actual values:

Experiment Steps

Start the Services

1. Start the MCP server on your development computer:

   cd mcp - server
   npx ts - node src/server.ts
   

2. Start the front - end project (storefront):
   • Run the following commands in the NextJS front - end directory:

     cd nextjs
     npm start
     

Demonstration Steps

1. Open a browser and visit http://localhost:3002.
2. Click the “AI Assistant” icon in the top - right corner.
3. Enter "I'm interested in backpacks" (the product list will refresh to show backpacks).
4. Enter "Get my orders" (the order list will refresh to show order information).
