A MCP server that provides tools for interacting with the Penumbra blockchain. This server supports privacy protection features, including transaction queries, validator set information, DEX status, and governance proposals.

The Penumbra MCP Server offers a suite of tools to interact with the Penumbra blockchain. After installation and configuration, you can start querying blockchain data and performing various operations.

• get_transaction: Get detailed information about a specific transaction.
• get_dex_state: Fetch the current DEX state, including the latest batch auction results.

📦 Installation

You can install the server via npm:

npm install @timeheater/penumbra-mcp

Or use yarn:

Local Development from Source Code

1. Install dependencies:

npm install

2. Build the server:

npm run build

3. Run in development mode:

npm run watch

Integration with Claude Desktop

Replace /path/to/penumbra-mcp with the actual path where you installed the server.

Using the MCP Server

After configuration, you can interact with Penumbra through Claude:

1. Query the validator set:

Tell Claude: Show the current Penumbra validator set.

2. Check the chain status:

Tell Claude: What is the current status of the Penumbra chain?

3. Get transaction details:

Tell Claude: View Penumbra transaction [HASH].

4. Check the DEX state:

Tell Claude: Show the current Penumbra DEX state.

5. List governance proposals:

Tell Claude: List active Penumbra governance proposals.

🔧 Technical Details

The server is built with TypeScript and implements the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to provide a standard tool interface. Currently, it offers mock implementations for core functions and plans to integrate with Penumbra's client libraries and node API endpoints.

All interactions respect Penumbra's privacy protection design:
