Iot MCP Server
This project includes two servers based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP): an IoT device control server and a memory management server. The IoT server provides device control, status query, and real-time update functions, suitable for scenarios such as smart homes and industrial IoT; the memory management server provides long-term memory storage and semantic search functions, suitable for fields such as conversation history and knowledge management.

What are these MCP Servers?
These servers provide standardized interfaces for IoT device control/monitoring and persistent memory storage using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The IoT server manages connected devices while the Memory server handles information storage and retrieval. How to use these servers?
Simply clone the repository, configure environment variables, and run the desired server. The IoT server connects to your MQTT broker while the Memory server interfaces with Mem0 service.Ideal Use Cases
IoT Server: Smart homes, industrial monitoring. Memory Server: AI conversation history, knowledge management systems.Key Features
IoT Device ControlSend commands and monitor status of connected IoT devices through standardized interface
Real-time Device UpdatesSubscribe to live status updates from your IoT devices
Persistent Memory StorageSave and retrieve information with long-term persistence
Semantic Memory SearchFind stored information using meaning-based search rather than exact keywords
Pros and Cons
Advantages
Standardized protocol for consistent device/memory management
Real-time monitoring capabilities
Semantic search understands context and meaning
Modular design - use only what you need
Limitations
Requires MQTT broker setup for IoT functionality
Memory server depends on Mem0 service availability
Learning curve for protocol implementation
Getting Started
Install Dependencies
Install required Python packages using pip
Configure Environment
Create .env file based on the provided template
Start IoT Server
Run the IoT control server (default port 8090)
Start Memory Server
Run the memory management server (default port 8050)
Example Use Cases
Smart Home ControlControl your smart lights and thermostats through the IoT server
Meeting Notes RecallStore and retrieve important meeting discussions
