🚀 CoolPC MCP Server

A server based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that offers price inquiry services for computer components from CoolPC in Taiwan. It enables MCP clients like Claude Desktop to generate computer quotes with the assistance of AI.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Environment Requirements

• Python 3.x (for data parsing)
• Node.js 18+ (for MCP Server)
• Claude Desktop (as an MCP client)

2. Install Dependencies

# Install Node.js dependencies
npm install

3. Generate product.json

Retrieve the latest data from the CoolPC website and generate the product data file:

# Method 1: Directly download and parse the latest data (recommended)
python3 coolpc_parser.py --download --json product.json

# Method 2: Use a local HTML file
# 1. Open a browser and go to https://www.coolpc.com.tw/evaluate.php
# 2. Save the webpage as evaluate.html
# 3. Run the parser
python3 coolpc_parser.py evaluate.html --json product.json

4. Build the MCP Server

# Development mode (instant compilation)
npm run dev

# Or build the production version
npm run build

⚙️ Claude Desktop Configuration

Configure the MCP Server in Claude Desktop to enable Claude to use the computer component inquiry function.

Configuration Steps

1. Open the Claude Desktop configuration file

   Locate the configuration file of Claude Desktop:

   • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   • Windows: %APPDATA%\\Claude\\claude_desktop_config.json

2. Add MCP Server configuration

   Add the following configuration to the configuration file:

   Replace /path/to/coolpc-mcp-server with the actual path of the project.

3. Restart Claude Desktop

   After saving the configuration file, restart Claude Desktop for the changes to take effect.

After configuration, you can use the following commands in Claude Desktop:

Update Product Data

Regularly update product data to ensure accurate price and inventory information:

Debugging

Check the MCP connection status of Claude Desktop:

1. Open Claude Desktop.
2. Check if the 🔌 icon is displayed in the bottom-left corner.
3. Click to view the MCP Server connection status.

🚧 Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Q: Claude Desktop cannot connect to the MCP Server

• Check if the configuration file path is correct.
• Ensure that Node.js and dependencies are correctly installed.
• Check if the product.json file exists.

Q: The search results are empty

• Confirm that product.json contains data.
• Check if the search keyword is correct.
• Try using different search conditions.

Q: The product data is outdated

• Retrieve the HTML data from the CoolPC website again.
• Run the parser to update product.json.
• Restart the MCP Server.
