What is the Notion-Anki MCP service?

This is an intelligent bridge service that connects Notion and Anki. It can automatically identify questions and answers in your Notion notes (organized in collapsible blocks), generate high-quality Anki flashcards after AI optimization, and automatically import them into the Anki software.

How to use this service?

Just follow three simple steps: 1) Organize your notes in collapsible blocks in Notion. 2) Run the service on the specified page. 3) Automatically get Anki flashcards. No manual copying and pasting is required.

Use cases

It is particularly suitable for students to organize class notes, prepare for exams; professionals to convert training materials; teachers to create in-class quizzes; researchers to manage literature key points and other learning scenarios that require long-term memory.

Main Features

Seamless Notion Integration
Safely read the content of your Notion pages through the official API and keep the data synchronized and updated.
Intelligent Content Parsing
Automatically identify the structure of collapsible blocks and accurately extract question-answer pairs.
AI Optimization and Enhancement
Use OpenAI technology to automatically optimize question expressions and answer organization to improve memory efficiency.
Real-time Anki Import
Automatically create a flashcard set and import content through AnkiConnect without manual operation.
Advantages
Save 90% of the time spent on making flashcards
Keep the original Notion notes and flashcards automatically synchronized
AI optimization makes the memory content more in line with cognitive laws
Support complex content formats (lists, emphasis marks, etc.)
Limitations
The Notion page needs to follow a specific collapsible block format
It depends on the continuous operation of the Anki desktop client
OpenAI API calls may require payment
Multiple API keys need to be obtained for the first configuration

How to Use

Prepare the Notion Page
Organize the content in collapsible blocks in Notion: use the collapsible title as the question and the expanded content as the answer. It can include formats such as lists and emphasis marks.
Configure the Environment
Obtain the Notion API key and OpenAI API key, install Anki and the AnkiConnect plugin. Fill in the keys in the.env configuration file.
Run the Service
After starting the service, specify the name of the Notion page to be converted through the interface or API.
Get the Flashcards
Wait for a moment and open Anki to see the newly created flashcard set containing the optimized memory content.

Usage Examples

Students' Exam Preparation and Review
Organize notes from various subjects into Q&A-style collapsible blocks and generate a flashcard set that can be reviewed according to the memory curve with one click.
Language Learning
Maintain a word list in Notion (use words as questions and definitions/examples as answers) and automatically create flashcards.
Professional Knowledge Base
Convert internal company technical documents into Q&A flashcards that can be reviewed regularly to help the team retain knowledge.
