Boikot is a community-driven initiative aimed at making corporate ethics data transparent and accessible. By curating a collection of corporate ethics records, we empower consumers to make informed choices, increase the cost of unethical business decisions, and encourage companies to act in the public interest.

All our services and data are freely available to the public under the GPL v3 license. You can download our comprehensive companies dataset from the file named boikot.json.

🚀 Quick Start

The primary product under development is the boikot.xyz website. It provides access to our data and tools for adding new records. This is a React project located in the site directory. Additionally, there are tools for data collection and summarization in the scripts and backend directories.

✨ Features

MCP Server

We operate an MCP server that offers a tool for looking up company ethics information. It can be accessed at the URL https://mcp.boikot.xyz/mcp without authentication. The server provides a tool named lookup_company_information, which takes a single parameter company_name and returns details about the company's ethical practices.

Dataset Structure

The boikot.json file serves as a database of companies' ethical and unethical practices. Each entry in the "companies" object represents a company's ethics record. Key attributes of each record include:

• Names: An array of names for the company, with the first entry being the most commonly used name.
• Comment: A string commenting on the company's ethics, with sources indicated by numbers in square brackets (e.g., [1][2]).
• Sources: An object mapping source numbers to their corresponding URLs.
• Tags: An array of strings that describe the company.
• LogoUrl and SiteUrl: URLs for the company's logo image and website, respectively.
• UpdatedAt: A timestamp indicating the last update time of the record.
