The fileAI MCP Server provides a comprehensive suite of tools for interacting with the fileAI file processing pipeline. It enables users to upload files, conduct Optical Character Recognition (OCR), classify documents, and extract structured data. The server utilizes the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to seamlessly integrate with AI models, allowing for programmatic document processing.

✅ Requirements

To use the FileAI MCP Server, ensure you have the following:

• A fileAI account. Sign up or log in here.
• A fileAI API Key. Generate it after creating your fileAI account.
• Verified AI Schemas in your fileAI account if you require deterministic responses.
  • Our system automatically suggests extraction and data fetch schemas. Confirm or edit them in the UI for direct use.
• An MCP client (e.g., Cursor or Claude Desktop).
• npx installed in your environment (usually comes with Node.js).

⚙️ Configuration

🔧 Configuring Cursor

• HTTP Transport
• Open Cursor Settings (Ctrl/Cmd + ,).
• Navigate to Tools & Integration → MCP Tools.
• Click + New MCP Server.

Note: Replace <YOUR_FILEAI_API_KEY> with your actual fileAI API key.

Verify the correct setup of the MCP Server. You should see the tools enabled.

🤖 Configuring Claude

To add the fileAI MCP Server to Claude:

• Go to your Claude Integrations page.
• Click + Add integration.
• In the URL field, enter:

https://mcp.file.ai/sse?x-api-key=Bearer YOUR_API_API_KEY_HERE

• Replace YOUR_API_API_KEY_HERE with your actual fileAI API key.

⚠️ Important Note

Claude has strict rules regarding sending PII via MCP. Ensure your use case complies with Claude’s Terms of Service.
