This project is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that offers a suite of tools to interact with the AviationStack API. It provides endpoints for fetching real - time and future flight data, aircraft types, and airplane details, facilitating the integration of aviation data into your applications.

The Aviationstack MCP Server allows you to easily access aviation - related data through its MCP - compliant endpoints. To get started, you need to meet the prerequisites and configure your MCP client.

• Get flights for a specific airline: Retrieve a random sample of flights for a particular airline.
• Retrieve arrival and departure schedules for airports: Obtain arrival or departure schedules for a given airport and airline.
• Fetch future flight schedules: Get future scheduled flights for a given airport, airline, and date.
• Get random aircraft types: Obtain a specified number of random aircraft types.
• Get detailed info on random airplanes: Retrieve detailed information about a specified number of random airplanes.
• Get detailed info on random countries: Obtain detailed information about a specified number of random countries.
• Get detailed info on random cities: Retrieve detailed information about a specified number of random cities.

All endpoints are implemented as MCP tools and are ready to be used in an MCP - compatible environment.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Aviationstack API Key (You can get a FREE API Key from Aviationstack)
• Python 3.13 or newer
• uv package manager installed

Development

• The main server logic is in server.py.
• All MCP tools are defined as Python functions decorated with @mcp.tool().
• The server uses the FastMCP class from mcp.server.fastmcp.
