🚀 MCP WeChat ADB Server

An ADB-based WeChat automation MCP server that provides WeChat message sending and screenshot functions for AI assistants. It enables AI to automatically reply to different contacts on WeChat with personalized messages, meeting business and daily life needs. Compatible with LDPlayer 9, it exposes tool interfaces through the MCP protocol. This is a submission for the Lanyun MCP Development Challenge, and the MCP entry file is main.py.

This MCP WeChat ADB Server allows you to automate WeChat operations using AI assistants. Follow the steps below to get started.

Environment Requirements

• Windows 10/11 (tested).
• Python >= 3.13.
• LDPlayer 9 with WeChat installed and logged in.
• ADB debugging enabled (you can check the ADB port in the simulator's diagnostic information).

Complete Installation and Configuration Process

Step 1: Install LDPlayer

1. Download and install LDPlayer. The tested version is 9.1.58(64), the latest official version. Make sure there are no spaces in the installation path, and fill in the path in the ldplayer_dir variable in main.py.
2. Set the simulator resolution to 1600x900.
3. Install WeChat in the simulator by searching directly. The tested version is 8.0.58.
4. Log in to your WeChat account and manually set the permissions.
5. Open WeChat for a test run to ensure there are no risk prompts and it can run normally (usually, there are no issues with WeChat).
6. Check the ADB port: Run the following command in the command line to view available device ports:

   D:\Program\leidian\LDPlayer9\adb.exe devices
   

   Example output:

   List of devices attached
   127.0.0.1:5555  device
   emulator-5554   device
   

   Select the first port (e.g., 127.0.0.1:5555) and fill it in the DEVICE variable in main.py.

Step 2: Create a Python Environment

You can use conda or uv to create an environment. It is recommended to use Python 3.13:

conda activate mcp-wechat

# Or using uv
uv venv
uv pip install "mcp[cli]"

You only need to install the pip install "mcp[cli]" library.

Step 3: Configure and Run

1. Fill in the simulator directory location in the ldplayer_dir variable in main.py.
2. Fill in the ADB device port obtained in Step 1 in the DEVICE variable in main.py (e.g., "127.0.0.1:5555").
3. By default, the SSE mode is enabled. Run main.py using Python in the current environment:

   python main.py
   

After running, the MCP SSE service will start, and the following tools will be registered:

• send_wechat_message(name: str, message: str) -> str

  • Function: Send a message to a specified contact.
  • Dependencies: WeChat is logged in, and the ADB input method is activated.

• screen_save() -> str

  • Function: Take a screenshot on the simulator and save it to the screens/ directory.

Step 4: Configure Cursor MCP

1. In Cursor, go to: Tools and Integrations → Add Custom MCP.
2. Write the following in the mcp.json file:

3. Enable this MCP Tools. After the green dot appears, you can start chatting normally in Cursor's Agent dialog.

Important Notes

• ADBKeyboard.apk File: The ADBKeyboard.apk file in the directory is required. It is a plugin needed for Chinese input via ADB on LDPlayer.
• Screenshot Function: Screenshots will be saved in the screens folder.
• ADB Port Check: Use the {simulator_path}\adb.exe devices command to check available device ports.

Directory Structure

• main.py: The entry point for the MCP service. It registers tools and runs FastMCP (SSE transmission).
• wechat_example.py: Encapsulates WeChat-related operations (entering conversations, inputting, sending, etc.).
• adb_utils.py: Provides basic ADB capabilities (connection, clicking, input method activation, screenshot, resolution, Activity detection, etc.).
• ADBKeyboard.apk: The input method APK required for text input via broadcast (it will be automatically installed and activated on the first run).
• screens/: The output directory for screenshots (automatically created).

⚠️ Important Note

AAA and BBB should be unique names that can be searched in the contact names or remarks on WeChat. This way, the system can accurately find the specified contact and enter the conversation based on the name.

💡 Usage Tip

You can use WeChat remarks to give special names to contacts and groups for easier searching.

Future Plans

🚀 This project has successfully integrated ADB operations into MCP, allowing AI to freely operate the simulator. With the development of multi-modal large models, in the future, screenshots can be input into large models with image understanding and positioning capabilities (such as GLM-4.5V). This will enable AI Agents to fully automate every step of operation while viewing through MCP, completing any tasks on mobile phones.

Troubleshooting

It is recommended to use raw strings or double backslashes for path separators on Windows, for example:

ldplayer_install_dir = r"D:\\Program\\leidian\\LDPlayer9"

On the first run, the system will automatically check and install/activate ADBKeyboard.apk. If the automatic activation fails, you can manually execute the following commands:

• Connection Failure or Timeout:
  • Confirm that the path to adb.exe is correct and can be executed:

    "D:\Program\leidian\LDPlayer9\adb.exe" -s 127.0.0.1:5555 shell screencap -p /sdcard/screen.png
    

  • Confirm that the ADB port in the simulator is consistent with ld_adb_address.
  • Confirm that the ADB port in the simulator is consistent with the DEVICE variable.
  • If the device list is empty, check if the simulator is running normally and if ADB debugging is enabled.
