🚀 Welcome Text Generator MCP Server

An MCP Server for automatically generating professional welcome texts for new employees. It extracts structured data from free-text information and creates modular, customizable onboarding texts.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v18 or higher)
• Claude Desktop App

Step 1: Installation via NPM

npm install -g welcome-text-generator-mcp

Or for local development:

git clone https://github.com/goodfel10w/WelcomeTextGenerator.git
cd WelcomeTextGenerator
npm install
npm run build

Step 2: Claude Desktop Configuration

Open the Claude Desktop configuration file:

Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json Linux: ~/.config/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Step 3: Restart Claude Desktop

Restart the Claude Desktop App to load the MCP Server.

Available Tools

1. extract_from_text

Extracts structured data from free text.

Parameters:

• text (string): Free text with information about the employee.

Example:

2. generate_modular_welcome_text

Generates a modular welcome text based on the template system.

Parameters:

• data (object): Extracted employee data

  • name (string, required)
  • position (string, optional)
  • previousCompany (string, optional)
  • skills (array, required)
  • experience (string, optional)
  • achievements (array, required)
  • interests (array, required)

• moduleOptions (object, optional):

  • includeCompetencies (boolean, default: true): Include Module 2.
  • includeFunFact (boolean, default: false): Include Module 3.
  • includeExperience (boolean, default: true): Include Module 4.
  • introductionVariant (string, default: "variant1"): "variant1", "variant2", or "variant3".
  • closingVariant (string, default: "variant1"): "variant1", "variant2", or "variant3".

3. list_extracted_data

Lists all stored employee data.

No parameters required

Module System

The generated text consists of 5 modules:

Module 1: Greeting & Introduction (Required)

3 variants available:

• Variant 1: "Welcome to [NAME]! With a fresh perspective..."
• Variant 2: "We're extremely happy to welcome [NAME] to our team!..."
• Variant 3: "A warm welcome to [NAME]!..."

Module 2: Competencies & Strengths (Optional)

Describes the employee's professional knowledge and passion.

Module 3: Fun Fact (Optional)

Personal and interesting information about the employee.

Module 4: Professional Career (Optional)

Information about the employee's previous career and achievements.

Module 5: Conclusion & Welcome Message (Required)

3 variants available:

• Variant 1: "Welcome to the team, [NAME]!..."
• Variant 2: "We're very glad to have you on board, [NAME]!..."
• Variant 3: "It's great that you're now part of our team, [NAME]!..."

Usage Example

In the Claude Chat:

Me: Here are the details about our new employee:
Max Mustermann - Senior Developer with 5 years of experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
Previously worked at TechCorp and led several successful projects.
An enthusiastic marathon runner.

Claude: I'll extract the data from the text...
[Uses the extract_from_text tool]

Me: Create a welcome text with Variant 2 for the greeting and add a fun fact.

Claude: [Uses the generate_modular_welcome_text with appropriate options]

Output:
We're extremely happy to welcome Max Mustermann to our team!
From now on, he'll strengthen our Development team as a Senior Developer, bringing valuable experience and new ideas.

Data Storage

All extracted data is automatically stored in:

<Project Directory>/data/extracted_data.json

Each entry contains:

• id: Unique ID (Timestamp)
• timestamp: ISO 8601 timestamp
• source: Data source ("Manual text input")
• data: The extracted employee data

Start the project locally
