🚀 BCB BR MCP Server

This is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that provides access to the time - series data of the Central Bank of Brazil (SGS/BCB). It enables queries of economic and financial indicators such as Selic, IPCA, exchange rates, GDP, etc., directly in AI assistants like Claude.

The BCB BR MCP Server allows you to access economic and financial data from the Central Bank of Brazil. You can use it in AI assistants like Claude to get information on various economic indicators.

🔍 Find Other Series

The SGS has more than 18,000 time - series. To find the code of other series:

1. Visit the BCB SGS Portal.
2. Use the search function to find the desired series.
3. Note down the code of the series.
4. Use this code in the tools provided by this server.

🔧 Technical Details

Robustness

• Timeout: 30 seconds per request (avoids freezes).
• Automatic Retry: 3 attempts with exponential backoff (1s, 2s, 4s).
• Error Handling: Clear error messages in Portuguese.

Intelligent Search

The bcb_buscar_serie tool normalizes search terms, allowing you to find series even without accents:

• "inflation" → finds "Inflation"
• "exchange" → finds "Exchange"
• "credit" → finds "Credit"

Setup
