What is RTM MCP Server?
RTM MCP Server is an intelligent bridge that connects the Claude AI assistant with the Remember The Milk (RTM) task management service. It allows you to manage your to-do items through simple conversations without manually operating the RTM interface. You can tell Claude what you want to do, and it will automatically create, modify, complete, or organize tasks for you.How to use RTM MCP Server?
The usage process is divided into three simple steps: First, obtain the RTM API key. Then, run the setup program to complete the authorization. Finally, configure Claude Desktop to start using. Once the configuration is complete, you can manage tasks just like talking to an assistant. For example, say 'Add a task to buy milk tomorrow' or 'Show all high-priority work tasks for today'.Applicable Scenarios
This tool is particularly suitable for: • Busy professionals who need to quickly record and manage tasks • Users who want to reduce the time spent on manual operations in task management applications • Users who like to collaborate with AI assistants through natural language • Users who need to synchronize task management across multiple devices • Efficiency seekers who want to use AI to intelligently organize tasksMain Features
Full RTM Function Coverage
Supports more than 30 operations, including task management, list operations, tag management, note addition, etc., covering almost all core functions of RTM.
Intelligent Addition Syntax
Use RTM's intelligent syntax to quickly create tasks, such as 'Call mom tomorrow ^tomorrow !1 #Family'. The system will automatically parse the date, priority, and tags.
Undo Operation Support
All write operations will return a transaction ID. If you accidentally perform an incorrect operation, you can easily undo it to avoid data loss.
High-Performance Asynchronous Processing
Built on httpx, supporting connection pooling and asynchronous requests to ensure fast response and stable connection.
Type Safety Guarantee
Use Pydantic models and complete type hints to ensure the correct data format and reduce the occurrence of errors.
Multi-Platform Support
Supports multiple installation methods (uvx, pip, Docker) and configuration methods (environment variables, configuration files) to meet the needs of different users.
Advantages
Natural language interaction: Manage tasks by speaking without learning complex interfaces
Time-saving: Quickly add and modify tasks, much faster than manual operations
Intelligent parsing: Automatically understand complex information such as dates, priorities, and tags
Seamless integration: Deeply integrated with Claude for a smooth experience
Cross-platform: Supports multiple installation and running methods
Safe and reliable: Supports undo operations to avoid losses caused by misoperations
Limitations
Requires an RTM account and API key: You need to apply for a developer key additionally
Depends on Claude Desktop: Currently mainly integrated with Claude Desktop
Learning curve: You need to understand the basic intelligent addition syntax for the best experience
Network dependency: Requires a stable network connection to access the RTM API
How to Use
Get API Credentials
Visit the RTM developer portal to apply for an API key and shared key. This requires logging in to your RTM account and filling out a simple application form.
Run the Setup Program
Run the setup command in the terminal and enter the API credentials as prompted. The system will automatically open the browser to complete the authorization process.
