This TypeScript-based MCP server offers a straightforward note-taking system. It showcases key MCP concepts by providing features related to resources, tools, and prompts.

✨ Features

Resources

• List and access notes with note:// URIs.
• Each note has a title, content, and metadata.
• Use the plain text MIME type for simple content access.

Tools

• create_note - Create a new text note.
  • Accepts title and content as required parameters.
  • Stores the note in the server state.

Prompts

• summarize_notes - Generate a summary of all stored notes.
  • Includes all note content as embedded resources.
  • Returns a structured prompt for the LLM to summarize.

📦 Installation

To use with Claude Desktop, add the server configuration:

Debugging

Since MCP servers communicate via standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector, which can be accessed via the package script:

npm run inspector

The Inspector will provide a URL to access the debugging tools in a browser.
