A MCP server that implements branch-based thinking navigation and supports:

• Multiple thought branches
• Branch navigation (list, focus, history)
• Cross-references between related ideas
• Automatic generation of insights from key points
• Branch priority tracking

This is based on the sequential-thinking tool provided here: https://github.com/modelcontextprotocol/servers/tree/main/src/sequentialthinking

Basic Usage

Here are some available commands:

• list: Display all branches and their current status.
• focus [branchId]: Switch to a specific branch.
• history [branchId?]: Show the history of ideas in a branch.

📦 Installation

Place this project in your custom MCP tools directory.

npm install
npm run build 

Add the following to your claude_desktop_config.json:

📚 Documentation

Claude typically doesn't use tools proactively unless explicitly prompted.

💡 Usage Tip

If you want to use this tool without being prompted, add the following to your Claude configuration file or system prompt: If I ask you to "think step by step", "think before responding", or "use chain thinking", it means to use the branch thinking tool. If you think your response would benefit from multiple steps, feel free to use the branch thinking tool on your own.
