🚀 ArtistLens

ArtistLens is a powerful Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides access to the Spotify Web API. It enables seamless interaction with Spotify's music catalog, including searching for tracks, albums, and artists, as well as retrieving detailed information about specific artists, such as their top tracks and related artists.

Current Version: 0.4.12

🚀 Quick Start

In the terminal, enter artistlens to run the server. By default, it runs on port 3001 of the local machine.

📦 Installation

Install via Smithery

Automatically install ArtistLens for Claude through Smithery:

npx smithery install @superseoworld/artistlens

Manual Installation

Install globally using npm or yarn:

npm install -g @thomaswawra/artistlens
# or
yarn global add @thomaswawra/artistlens

📚 Documentation

Configuration

Create or edit the smithery.json file in the ~/.config directory and add the following content:

Ensure that the node_modules or yarn directory is in your PATH environment variable.

Update

To update to the latest version:

# If installed globally
npm update -g @thomaswawra/artistlens

# If using npx, it will automatically use the latest version
npx -y @thomaswawra/artistlens

🔧 Technical Details

Project Structure

The codebase is organized into the following directories:

• src/handlers/: Contains handler classes for different Spotify API endpoints.
• src/types/: TypeScript interfaces defining request and response objects.
• src/utils/: Utility functions and classes for API communication.
• src/__tests__/: Jest test files for testing all features.

Testing

The project uses Jest for testing. Run tests:

npm test

Run watch tests in development mode:

npm run test:watch
