This is an MCP server that connects to the Shopify API. You can use this server to retrieve and manipulate Shopify product information from Claude Desktop.

This server provides the following tools:

1. list_products: Retrieve a list of products

   • limit: The number of products to retrieve (maximum 250, default is 50)

2. get_product: Get detailed information about a product

   • product_id: Product ID (required)

3. create_product: Create a new product

   • title: Product name (required)
   • body_html: Product description (in HTML format)
   • vendor: Supplier name
   • product_type: Product type
   • tags: Tags (comma-separated)
   • status: Status (active/draft/archived)
   • variants: Variants
   • options: Options
   • images: Images

4. update_product: Update product information

   • product_id: Product ID (required)
   • title: Product name
   • body_html: Product description (in HTML format)
   • vendor: Supplier name
   • product_type: Product type
   • tags: Tags (comma-separated)
   • status: Status (active/draft/archived)
   • variants: Variants
   • options: Options
   • images: Images

5. delete_product: Delete a product

   • product_id: Product ID (required)

📦 Installation

Required Environment Variables

To use this server, you need to set the following environment variables:

• SHOPIFY_SHOP_URL: The URL of your Shopify store (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com)
• SHOPIFY_API_KEY: The API key for the Shopify Admin API
• SHOPIFY_API_PASSWORD: The API password (Secret) for the Shopify Admin API
• SHOPIFY_API_VERSION: The Shopify API version (default: 2023 - 10)

Claude Desktop Configuration

To use it in Claude Desktop, you need to configure as follows:

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

To retrieve a list of products:

list_products --limit=10

To delete a product with a specified ID:

delete_product --product_id=abc123

🔧 Development

Install Dependencies

Use the following command to synchronize and install dependencies:

uv sync

Debugging

Use the MCP Inspector for debugging:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uv --directory /your_path/shopify-py run shopify-py

Build and Publish

Prepare the distribution package:

1. Synchronize dependencies and update the lock file:

   uv sync
   

2. Build the package:

   uv build
   

3. Publish to PyPI:

   uv publish
   

⚠️ Important Note

Publishing to PyPI requires setting authentication information, which can be specified via environment variables or command-line arguments.
