What is MCP Firebird?

MCP Firebird is a server that implements Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP) in the Firebird SQL database. It allows large language models (such as Claude) to access, analyze, and manipulate data in the Firebird database in a secure and controlled manner.

📦 Installation

Manual Installation

# Global installation
npm install -g mcp-firebird

# Start the server
npx mcp-firebird --database /path/to/database.fdb

Basic Usage

Use with Claude Desktop

1. Edit the Claude Desktop configuration:

   code $env:AppData\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json  # Windows
   code ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json  # macOS
   

2. Add the MCP Firebird configuration:

   {

       "executablePath": "path/to/mcp-firebird",
       "args": ["--database", "/path/to/database.fdb"]
     }
   }
   

3. Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.

Usage Example

• Run the following command in the terminal to start MCP Firebird:

  npx mcp-firebird --database /path/to/database.fdb
  

• Now, you can use the functions to interact with the Firebird database in Claude.
