The MCP Tool Builder serves as an MCP server, empowering large language models (LLMs) to dynamically craft new tools. With MCP clients such as Claude Desktop, users can effortlessly define and generate novel tools.

✨ Features

• Create Tools via Natural Language Descriptions
  • Note: Restart the Claude Desktop client before using new tools.
• New tools will be saved as Python scripts in ...\\mcp-tool-builder\\tools.
• Tool definition files will be stored in ...\\mcp-tool-builder\\tools\\tools.json.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Here are some example tools included during installation:

• get_bitcoin_price: Fetch the current price of Bitcoin from CoinGecko.
• get_weather_forecast: Query the weather forecast for a US ZIP code (using the geopy library).

Advanced Usage

You can generate new tools by executing the create_tool command in Claude Desktop or strongly suggesting the model to do so.

📦 Installation

1. Clone this repository.
2. Install the dependencies:

cd mcp-tool-builder
uv venv
.venv\Scripts\activate
uv pip install -e .
