🚀 Brev MCP Server Implementation

This is an MCP server implemented for Brev, which aims to provide a reliable and efficient service for related operations.

🚀 Quick Start

Set up the repository locally

git clone git@github.com:brevdev/brev-mcp.git

Install uv

Follow the uv installation guide for installation.

Windows Desktop Version

On MacOS: ~/Library/Application\ 支持/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json%

Add the following content to your claude_desktop_config.json:

✨ Features

The MCP server uses the API access token of the Brev CLI and the currently set organization.

Please refer to the Brev documentation to download the CLI and log in if you haven't already.

If you want to switch the Brev organization, run brev set <org-name>

The CLI access token expires every hour. If you encounter any 403 errors, simply run brev ls to refresh the access token.

📦 Installation

Build and Publish

Prepare the distribution package:

1. Synchronize dependencies and update the lock file:

uv sync

2. Build the package distribution:

uv build

This will create source code and wheel format distributions in the dist/ directory.

3. Publish to PyPI:

uv publish

Note: You need to set PyPI credentials through environment variables or command-line parameters:

• Token: --token or UV_PUBLISH_TOKEN
• Or username/password: --username/UV_PUBLISH_USERNAME and --password/UV_PUBLISH_PASSWORD

💻 Usage Examples

Debugging

Since the MCP server runs via stdio, debugging can be challenging. For the best debugging experience, we highly recommend using MCP Inspector.

You can run MCP Inspector via npm:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uv --directory /Users/tmontfort/Brev/repos/brev_mcp run brev-mcp

After starting, the Inspector will display a URL that you can access in your browser to start debugging.
