📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js
• Claude Desktop/Cursor/Windsurf
• Locally configured GCP credentials (Application Default Credentials)

Steps

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/eniayomi/gcp-mcp
cd gcp-mcp

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

Configuration

Claude Desktop

1. Open the Claude desktop application, go to Settings -> Developers -> Edit Configuration.
2. Add the following content to claude_desktop_config.json:

Via npm:

Replace /path/to/gcp-mcp with the actual project directory path.

Cursor

1. Open Cursor, go to Settings (⌘,).
2. Navigate to AI -> Model Context Protocol.
3. Add a new MCP configuration:

GCP Settings

1. Configure GCP credentials:
   • Use gcloud auth application-default login to set up Application Default Credentials.
2. Refresh your AI assistant (Claude Desktop/Cursor/Windsurf).

Basic Usage

The server allows you to query and manage GCP resources using natural language. Here are some examples:

• Query all available projects: List all my GCP projects
• Get the ID of the current project: Tell me the ID of the current project

Example Interaction

User: List all my GCP projects
System: Sure, here is a list of all your GCP projects:
       1. project-12345
       2. dev-environment
       3. production-server

📄 Available Tools

• gcp-mcp-server: Used to start the MCP server.
• gcp-mcp-client: A client tool for interacting with the MCP server.

🔧 Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, check the following:

1. Ensure that the required GCP APIs are enabled.
2. Verify that your account has sufficient permissions to access the resources.
3. Check the log file for more error information:
