🚀 AWS MCP Server

An implementation of the Model Context Protocol server for AWS operations. Currently, it supports S3 and DynamoDB services. All operations are automatically logged and can be accessed via the audit://aws-operations resource endpoint.

Local Deployment with Claude Desktop App

Installation via Smithery

To automatically install the AWS MCP server for the Claude desktop application via Smithery:

npx -y @smithery/cli install mcp-server-aws --client claude

Manual Installation

1. Clone this repository.
2. Set up your AWS credentials using one of the following two methods. Note that this server requires an IAM user with read and write permissions for S3 and DynamoDB.
   • Environment variables: AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID, AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY, AWS_REGION (default is us-east-1)
   • Default AWS credential chain (set via aws configure using the AWS CLI)
3. Add the following content to your claude_desktop_config.json file:
   • On MacOS: ~/Library/Application\ 支持/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   • On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json%

4. Install and open the Claude desktop application.
5. After completing the above steps, you should be able to use the AWS MCP server.

• s3-list-buckets: List all S3 buckets.
• s3-create-bucket: Create a new S3 bucket.
• s3-delete-bucket: Delete a specified S3 bucket.
• s3-list-objects: List objects in a bucket.
• s3-upload-object: Upload a file to a specified bucket.
• s3-download-object: Download a file from a specified bucket.
• s3-delete-object: Delete a file from a specified bucket.

DynamoDB Operations

• dynamodb-describe-table: Describe the details of a table.
• dynamodb-create-table: Create a new DynamoDB table.
• dynamodb-delete-table: Delete a specified DynamoDB table.
• dynamodb-query: Query data in a DynamoDB table.
• dynamodb-scan: Scan an entire DynamoDB table.
• dynamodb put-item: Insert a new item into the table.
• dynamodb update-item: Update an existing item in the table.
• dynamodb delete-item: Delete a specified item from the table.
