🚀 Azure Resource Graph MCP Server Demo

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides access to Azure Resource Graph queries. It allows you to retrieve Azure resource information across subscriptions using Resource Graph queries.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js installed.
• An Azure subscription.
• Azure CLI installed and logged in, or other Azure credentials configured.

Running the MCP Server

You can run the MCP server via Cursor IDE or Visual Studio Code.

Option 1: Cursor IDE Integration

To integrate the MCP server into Cursor IDE:

1. Clone this repository to your local machine (e.g., C:\YOUR_WORKSPACE\azure-resource-graph-mcp-server).
2. Build the project:

   npm install
   npm run build
   

3. Open Cursor settings (JSON) and add the following configuration:

4. Adjust the value of SUBSCRIPTION_ID as needed.

Option 2: Visual Studio Code Integration

To integrate the MCP server into Visual Studio Code:

1. Follow the same steps as for Cursor IDE.
2. Ensure the settings file path is correct.

Basic Usage

1. Clone the repository and install dependencies:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/azure-resource-graph-mcp-server.git
   cd azure-resource-graph-mcp-server
   npm install
   

2. Build the project:

   npm run build
   

3. Start the server:

   npm start
   

Environment Setup

1. Configure the environment variable SUBSCRIPTION_ID, for example, add the following to the .env file:

   SUBSCRIPTION_ID=your-subscription-id
   

2. Ensure Azure CLI is installed and logged in.

⚠️ Important Note

• If an authentication error occurs, check if SUBSCRIPTION_ID is correct.
