Using uv (recommended):

Basic Usage

# Run with the default Makefile in the current directory
uvx mcp-server-make

# Run with a specific Makefile and working directory
uvx mcp-server-make --make-path /path/to/Makefile --working-dir /path/to/working/dir

MCP Client Configuration

To use with Claude Desktop, add the following to your Claude configuration file (claude_desktop_config.json):

User Guide

Installing the Server

Clone the MCP Server Make into your project directory and follow these steps to install:

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/wrale/mcp-server-make.git
   cd mcp-server-make
   

2. Install dependencies:

   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

Running the Server

Run the MCP Server Make using the following command:

uvx mcp-server-make --port 1234

By default, the server runs on port 1234. You can specify a different port using the --port parameter.

Customizing the Makefile

To customize the Makefile, create a file named Makefile and define your targets:

Then, you can invoke the target using the following command:

uvx mcp-server-make --target all
