A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects to the Tesla Fleet API, allowing you to control your Tesla vehicle using Claude and other MCP - supported AI assistants.

📦 Installation and Configuration

Environment Requirements

• Node.js (Recommended version v16 or higher)
• npm (Recommended version v8 or higher)

Quick Start

1. Clone the project repository:

   git clone https://github.com/your-repository.git
   cd your-repository
   

2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

3. Start the server:

   npm start
   

💻 Usage Examples

Configure Claude

1. Create or edit the configuration file:

   nano ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   

2. Add the following content (adjust according to the actual path):

         "command": "/absolute/path/to/tesla-mcp/run-mcp.js"

     }
   }
   

3. Set script permissions:

   chmod +x run-mcp.js
   

4. Restart Claude.

Common Commands

• Query vehicles: "Which Tesla vehicles do I have?"
• Wake up the vehicle: "Please wake up my Tesla."
• Show debug information: "Show detailed information about my Tesla car."

Troubleshooting

• Environment variable check: Ensure that the .env file contains valid credentials.
• Server connection: Confirm that the server is running and Claude is configured correctly.

• npm build: Compile TypeScript code.
• npm start: Start the MCP server.
• npm register: Register the Tesla API application.
• npm get-token: Get the refresh token.
• npm test-api: Test the connection to the Tesla API.
• npm inspector: Start the debug inspector.

📚 Documentation

Notes

• Many vehicle control endpoints of Tesla's REST API have been deprecated. Functions such as honking the horn now need to be implemented through the Tesla Vehicle Command Protocol.
• Future plans include adding support for more vehicle information endpoints and improving the user interface.
