Basic Usage

Here are some basic usage examples of the Todoist MCP Server:

Create a Task

todoist_create_task --content "Complete the project report" --description "A detailed report containing all the latest data"

Get Tasks

todoist_get_tasks --due_date "2023-10-31"

Update a Task

todoist_update_task --task_id 123 --priority_level 2

Complete a Task

todoist_complete_task --task_id 456

Delete a Task

Advanced Usage

The server provides several tools for more advanced operations:

todoist_create_task

Create a new task with various attributes:

• Required: content (task title)
• Optional: description, due_date, priority_level (1 - 4)
• Example: "Create task 'Team Meeting' with description 'Weekly sync' due tomorrow"

todoist_get_tasks

Retrieve and filter tasks:

• Filter by due date, priority, or project.
• Natural language date filtering.
• Optional result limit.

todoist_update_task

Update an existing task using natural language search:

Setup

Obtain a Todoist API Token

1. Log in to your Todoist account.
2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
3. Find your API token under "Developers".
