An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server based on ableton-js for real-time interaction and control of Ableton Live, aiming to assist music producers in music creation.

This MCP server based on ableton-js is designed to interact with and control Ableton Live in real-time, helping music producers with their music creation process.

✨ Features

🎵 Song Control

• Retrieve basic song information (root note, scale name, tempo, song length, etc.).
• Get a list of all tracks.
• Create MIDI, audio, and return tracks.
• Delete and duplicate tracks.

🎹 Track Management

• Get all clips in a track.
• Create empty MIDI clips.
• Set track attributes (mute, color, name, enable recording, solo, etc.).
• Copy MIDI clips to a specified track.

🎼 Clip Operations

• Get clips in the piano roll view.
• Retrieve and manage all notes in a clip.
• Add, delete, and replace notes in a clip.
• Set clip attributes (name, color, loop, loop_start, loop_end, etc.).

🎧 Audio Operations

• Support recording track content based on a time range.

📦 Installation

1. Install Node.js: Ensure the npx command is available. It is recommended to install the latest stable version from the Node.js official website.
2. Install the MIDI Remote Script: Follow the instructions in the ableton-js project to install the AbletonJS MIDI remote script into your Ableton Live.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

1. Make sure Ableton Live is up and running.

2. Ensure the AbletonJS control surface is enabled:

   Path: Settings -> Link, Tempo, and MIDI -> MIDI -> Control Surfaces

3. Connect using an MCP client, including but not limited to:

   • Cursor
   • Cherry Studio
   • Claude Desktop
