The Lighthouse MCP Server is designed to assist in measuring web page performance metrics. After proper configuration, you can easily utilize its features.

📦 Installation

Option 1: Use npx (Recommended)

You can directly run the tool using npx without installation:

npx lighthouse-mcp

Option 2: Global Installation

Install the package globally:

npm install -g lighthouse-mcp

Then run it:

lighthouse-mcp

Option 3: Local Development

1. Clone this repository.
2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Build the project:

npm run build

4. Run the server:

npm start

Replace /absolute/path/to/lighthouse-mcp with the actual path of your project.

Available Tools

run_audit

Run a comprehensive Lighthouse audit on a URL.

Parameters:

• url (Required): The URL to be audited.
• categories (Optional): An array of categories to be audited (default is all).
  • Options: "performance", "accessibility", "best-practices", "seo", "pwa"
• device (Optional): The device to be emulated (default is "mobile").
  • Options: "mobile", "desktop"
• throttling (Optional): Whether to apply network throttling (default is true).

get_performance_score

Only get the performance score of a URL.

Parameters:

• url (Required): The URL to be audited.
• device (Optional): The device to be emulated (default is "mobile").

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

After configuring the MCP server, you can use it in Claude:

What's the performance score of example.com?

Claude will use the get_performance_score tool to analyze the website and return the result.
