The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a standardized protocol for managing context between Large Language Models (LLMs) and external systems. This repository provides an MCP server for the Redis Cloud API, allowing you to manage your Redis Cloud resources using natural language.

This enables you to use Claude Desktop or any MCP client to complete tasks on your Redis Cloud account using natural language, such as:

• "Create a new Redis database on AWS"
• "What are my current subscriptions?"
• "Help me choose a Redis database suitable for my e-commerce application"

🚀 Quick Start

Getting Started

1. Install Dependencies:

   • Ensure you have Node.js and TypeScript installed.
   • Install the required dependencies, such as @types/node, express, and typescript.

2. Configure API Keys:

   • Set REDIS_CLOUD_API_KEY and REDIS_CLOUD_SECRET_KEY in your environment variables.

3. Run the Server:

   npm start

Using Docker

Build the Docker Image

docker build -t mcp/redis-cloud .

Run the Docker Container

docker run -i --rm \
  -e API_KEY=<your_redis_cloud_api_key> \
  -e SECRET_KEY=<your_redis_cloud_api_secret_key> \
  mcp/redis-cloud

Integration with Claude Desktop

1. Build the Docker Image (if not already built):

   docker build -t mcp/redis-cloud .
   

2. Add the Server to Claude Desktop:

   • Open Claude Desktop settings.
   • Navigate to the Developer tab (make sure Developer Mode is enabled).
   • Click "Edit Configuration".
   • Open the claude_desktop_config.json file.
   • Add the following configuration:
