🛠️ Manual Setup

1. Clone the repository

   git clone git@github.com:markacianfrani/mcp-notes.git
   cd mcp-notes
   npm i
   npm run build
   

2. Configure MCP

MCP Notes aims to address the problem of knowledge fragmentation by building a system that enables daily thoughts, achievements, and insights to:

🧩 Core Concepts

1. 📅 Daily Logs

Daily logs are the basic capture units in MCP Notes. Each day has its own Markdown file for recording observations throughout the day. You can think of daily logs as a running ledger.

💡 Usage Tip

Use the quick - input keyboard shortcuts in Claude Desktop.

MCP is tool - neutral, so you can use /log in any conversation or tool. For example, have Copilot or Cursor record what you learned about a new method after fixing a bug.

2. 📊 Summaries

Summaries are automatically generated, condensing daily logs into higher - level insights and patterns. They help connect isolated information into a coherent narrative of work and thinking.

3. 📚 Knowledge Classification

All notes in the system belong to one of the following four categories:

• 🏆 Achievements: Solving problems, completing features, fixing bugs.
• 💡 Insights: Patterns, architectural decisions, better ways of working.
• 📝 To - Do Items: Tasks related to larger goals, meaningful improvements.
