Using npx for a Quick Start

The easiest way to run the server is by using npx:

RESOURCE_HUB_TOKEN=your_token npx @adamwattis/resource-hub-server

Running from Source Code

If you prefer to run from the source code:

1. Install the dependencies:

npm install

2. Build the server:

npm run build

3. Run with your Resource Hub token:

RESOURCE_HUB_TOKEN=your_token npm start

The Resource Hub Server acts as a proxy between your local MCP environment and the Resource Hub. It allows you to:

• Access tools and resources configured in the center.
• Share configurations across different environments.
• Manage MCP server settings in one place.

📦 Installation

You need a Resource Hub token to use this server. You can obtain it from the Resource Hub token page.

To use it with Claude Desktop, add the server configuration:

• On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Environment Variables

• RESOURCE_HUB_TOKEN (Required): Your Resource Hub authentication token

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

The basic usage of the server is to start it with the token:

RESOURCE_HUB_TOKEN=your_token npx @adamwattis/resource-hub-server

Advanced Usage

If you want to run from source code and customize the process, follow these steps:

1. Install dependencies:

npm install

2. Build the server:

npm run build

3. Run with your token:

RESOURCE_HUB_TOKEN=your_token npm start

Debugging

Since MCP servers communicate via stdio, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using MCP Inspector:

npm run inspector

The Inspector will provide a URL for you to access the debugging tool in your browser.
