This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to interact with the Cooper Hewitt Museum Collection API. It allows you to search for and programmatically retrieve detailed information about museum collections.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js (version 16+ recommended)
• npm (Node Package Manager)

Steps

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/behole/cooper-hewitt-mcp.git
cd cooper-hewitt-mcp

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Set up the API token

   • Create a .env file in the project root directory.
   • Obtain an API token from Cooper Hewitt API.
   • Add your token to the .env file:

   COOPER_HEWITT_API_TOKEN=your_api_token_here
   

4. Update your claude_desktop_config.json

Search for Objects

• Name: search-objects

Running the Server

node index.js
