Installation

You can install the package using uv or pip.

Tools

The server provides two tools:

• connect_database: Connect to a specific MySQL database.

  • database parameter: The name of the database to connect to (string).
  • Returns a confirmation message upon successful connection.

• execute_query: Execute MySQL queries.

  • query parameter: One or more SQL queries to execute (string).
  • Returns query results in JSON format.
  • Multiple queries can be sent separated by semicolons.

Components

Tools

• connect_database: This tool is used to connect to a specific MySQL database. The database parameter is a string representing the name of the database to connect to. When the connection is successful, it returns a confirmation message.
• execute_query: This tool is used to execute MySQL queries. The query parameter is a string that can contain one or more SQL queries. Multiple queries can be separated by semicolons. The results of the queries are returned in JSON format.

Configuration

The server relies on several environment variables for configuration. These variables determine the connection details to the MySQL server, such as the host, user, password, and initial database. The MYSQL_READONLY variable can be set to enable read - only mode.
