MCP Maker is a professional MCP server tool designed to help you easily build new Model Context Protocol servers. It offers a range of tools and templates for quickly setting up MCP projects with various functions, including:

• Basic MCP server structure setup
• Tool definition templates

• Prompt templates
• Configuration guides to assist with integrating Claude Desktop

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v18+)
• npm or pnpm

Setup

1. Clone this repository:

git clone https://github.com/yourusername/mcp-maker
cd mcp-maker

2. Install dependencies:

pnpm install

3. Build the project:

pnpm run build

💻 Usage Examples

Integrating with Claude Desktop

1. Configure Claude Desktop to recognize the MCP Maker server:

Edit your Claude Desktop configuration file:

• On macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Add the following content to the configuration file:

2. Restart Claude Desktop.

3. In Claude Desktop, you can now use the MCP Maker tool to create new MCP servers.

Available Tools

generate_mcp_boilerplate

Create a new MCP server project with all the necessary initial files.

create_tool_template

Generate template code for a new MCP tool with customizable parameters.

create_resource_template

Generate template code for a new MCP resource.

create_prompt_template

Generate template code for a new MCP prompt.

Development

Use the automatic rebuild feature:

pnpm run watch

When debugging, use the MCP inspector:

pnpm run inspector
