📦 Installation

Install via Smithery

Automatically install the Huntress API MCP server for Claude Desktop via Smithery:

npx -y @smithery/cli install huntress-mcp-server --client claude

Manual Installation

1. Clone the repository.
2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

3. Create a .env file based on .env.example:

   HUNTRESS_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
   HUNTRESS_API_SECRET=your_api_secret_here
   

4. Build the server:

   npm run build

Account Management

📚 Documentation

Configuration

The server requires the following environment variables:

• HUNTRESS_API_KEY: Your Huntress API Key.
• HUNTRESS_API_SECRET: Your Huntress API Secret Key.

These can be obtained in the "API Credentials" section under your Huntress account <your_account_subdomain>.huntress.io.

Rate Limiting

The server implements rate limiting for the Huntress API, allowing 60 requests per minute (based on a sliding window). This means:

• A maximum of 60 requests can be made within any 60 - second period.
• The window is sliding. So, if the first request is at T0 and the 60th request is at T30, the 61st request must wait until T60.

Error Handling

The server handles various error scenarios:

• Invalid API credentials
• Exceeding the rate limit
• Invalid request parameters
• API response errors
