🚀 MCP Intercom Server

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides access to Intercom conversations and chats. This server allows Large Language Models (LLMs) to query and analyze your Intercom sessions through various filtering options.

📦 Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/fabian1710/mcp-intercom.git
cd mcp-intercom

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Set up the environment:

cp .env.example .env

4. Add your Intercom API key to the .env file:

INTERCOM_API_KEY=your_api_key_here

5. Build the server:

npm run build

Basic Usage

Run the server

Start the server:

npm start

Use with Claude for Desktop

1. Add the server to your Claude for Desktop configuration file (~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on macOS or %AppData%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json on Windows):

Advanced Usage

search-conversations

Search Intercom conversations using filtering options.

Parameters:

• createdAt (optional): An object containing operator (e.g., ">", "<", "=") and value (UNIX timestamp) to filter by creation date.
• updatedAt (optional): An object containing operator (e.g., ">", "<", "=") and value (UNIX timestamp) to filter by update date.
• sourceType (optional): The source type of the conversation (e.g., "email", "chat").
• state (optional): The conversation state to filter (e.g., "open", "closed").
• open (optional): A boolean value to filter by open state.
• read (optional): A boolean value to filter by read state.

Example queries:

• "Search for all conversations created after January 1, 2024"
• "Find conversations updated last year"
• "List all open email conversations"
• "Get all unread conversations"

🔧 Technical Details

• Security:
  • The server requires an Intercom API key to run.
  • The API key should be stored securely to ensure safety.
  • The server only provides read - only access to conversations.
  • All API requests are authenticated appropriately.
• Development:
  1. Start the development mode (auto - recompile):

npm run dev

2. Run code checks:

npm run lint
