🚀 PostgreSQL MCP Server (Enhanced Version)

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides bidirectional access to PostgreSQL databases. This server enables Large Language Models (LLMs) to inspect database schemas, execute queries, modify data, and create/modify database schema objects.

⚠️ Important Note

This is an enhanced version of the original PostgreSQL MCP Server by Anthropic. The original server provides read-only access, while this enhanced version adds write capabilities and schema management.

📦 Installation

Docker

docker build -t mcp/postgres -f Dockerfile .

🔧 Technical Details

1. All data modification operations use transactions with COMMIT/ROLLBACK handling.
2. Each operation returns the executed SQL statement for transparency.
3. The server uses parameterized queries in insert/update operations to prevent SQL injection.
