📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• AutoCAD LT 2024 or later (with AutoLISP support).
• Python 3.10 or later.
• Claude Desktop or other MCP client applications.

Steps

1. Install Dependencies:

   git clone https://github.com/hvkshetry/autocad-mcp.git
   cd autocad-mcp
   python -m venv venv
   venv\Scripts\activate
   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

2. Configure Claude Desktop:

   • Open the Claude Desktop settings.
   • Edit the configuration file to include the following:

   • Add the following code to custom.css:

3. Start and Run:

   • Launch AutoCAD and open a new project.
   • In the command line, enter python server.py.
   • In another terminal, enter python client.py.

• Requires AutoCAD LT 2024 or later with AutoLISP support.
• Relies on window focus and keyboard simulation to execute commands.
• Users should not interact with AutoCAD during command execution.
• Limited to 2D drawing operations.
• Block connection points use predefined names (CONN_DEFAULT1, CONN_DEFAULT2).
• Layer colors must be specified as strings (e.g., "red", "yellow", "120").
